Geocache Description:

Chatsworth is a tiny town in tbe Western district which has been cacheless until now.

Having spent my youth in Chatsworth, there always seemed to be something to do, however now, the majority of the original towns folk have moved away and all the facilities, apart from a day care and CFA shed have long gone.

I have fond memories of summers swimming in the Hopkins river, playing competition tennis against other towns in the region while the men battled it out on the cricket pitch. There was also table tennis played in the old hall which was also used for school concerts and flower shows.

There was once a pub, however this was long before my time, a primary school, churches, a community hall and general store.

The historic property of Chatsworth House property, built by John Moffatt in 1859 is about 5km away and in recent years has been a popular spot for weddings.

John Moffatt also donated funds to build the bluestone Presbyterian Church which is across from this cache and a good spot to park off the surprisingly busy road.

- There is no room for swaps in this cache
