Cercetătoarea din SUA a pus bazele unui laborator, în cadrul căruia a reuşit să obţină imagini de foarte bună calitate ale structurii ADN-ului uman. După ce, vreme de mai bine de un an, a realizat calcule matematice, care să o ajute să-şi fundamenteze teoriile, savanta a putut demonstra că acidul dezoxiribonucleic are forma unui dublu helix.
Deşi nu avea permisiunea lui Rosalind, Maurice Wilkins, colega ei de laborator, a arărat rezultatele obţinute pe baza studiului lanţurilor de polinucleotide biologilor James Watson şi Francis Crick. Aceştia din urmă au publicat o serie de articole ştiinţifice despre noua descoperire din domeniul geneticii, menţionând contribuţia lui Rosalind Franklin doar într-o notă de subsol. În 1962, la patru ani după moartea savantei, cei doi au fost recompensaţi cu Premiul Nobel pentru „realizările” pe care le-au avut.

Rosalind Franklin–> DNA structure
The researcher from the USA set up a laboratory, in which she managed to obtain very good quality images of the structure of human DNA. After more than a year of performing mathematical calculations to help her substantiate her theories, the scientist was able to show that deoxyribonucleic acid has the shape of a double helix.
Although she did not have Rosalind's permission, her laboratory colleague Maurice Wilkins reported the results of the study of polynucleotide chains by biologists James Watson and Francis Crick. The latter published a series of scientific articles on the new discovery in the field of genetics, mentioning Rosalind Franklin's contribution only in a footnote. In 1962, four years after the scientist's death, the two were awarded the Nobel Prize for their "achievements."
