Geocache Description:

The view from this location would've been very different around 1900. This is one of the remaining sections of green land in an area now built up entirely of housing. The 1892-1914 map shows the area used to be home to a small pond as well as trees. This area flanked the residence of George Challinor seen in the bottom left corner of the map.

Standing at the "Bird Sanctuary" sign and looking out at the flats you've would've seen the old dairy as seen on the second map below circa

In 2014 the area was transormed into a woodland nature reserve, with students from the local primary school painting bird boxes which were installed by a local resident.

This is the only image of the area I can find Image bank "Ivy Lane Corner"

I would love to hear of other people's history of this area in the comments.

The cache is a magnetic microcache, placed along the bouandary of this patch of land, It is NOT located in anyone's private land/garden. Please replace as found.
