"Read the Cache Page" is a tribute cache to one of NNJC's amazing geocacher friends Rich Desch from the BraillerCD team of Rich and Carol Desch. Sadly, Rich passed away on September 1st 2022, he will be missed by the entire geocaching community of friends who all respected and enjoyed his company.
We can all hear Rich saying "Read the Cache Page" as one of his many fun loving quips.
Rich was a huge help to me personally and everyone at NNJC. He was always first to arrive and last to leave to make sure he helped each and everyone. He enjoyed figuring out puzzles and working on them with a group. He was an amazing cache hider, always creating some of the favorite geocaches around.
There are many endearing stories we all have of Rich as he easily made fiends where ever he went. Please post in your log and cache page anything you would like to reflect on your interactions with Rich, I could write a book.
Rich loved the orange hats I had bought for the 2016 Halloween Mega event staff, having leftovers, I always gave him a fresh new hat each year. I last gave Rich a new hat after the June 2022 mega event, he was so happy he jumped for joy and gave me a big Rich bear hug! He was one of the best of friends and will be missed. Old Navy

He truly enjoyed the geocaching community, friendships, and the outdoors. Rich was a prolific hider of very crafty and creative home made geocaches. He enjoyed exploring the creativity to create something unique that geocaching offered. He truly enjoyed to see what the community thought about his latest crafty hide. .
