Geocache Description:


Violins, also known as a fiddle, is a wooden string instrument of the violin family.  The body is wooden and hollow and usually has 4 strings.  It can be played by drawing a bow across its strings, by plucking or striking the strings with the wooden side of the bow.  It originates from Central Asia from around the late 14th century. The modern form comes from Italy in 1724 and was known as "violino".  In 1570, it bacame known as violin in the English language.
