Geocache Description:

Beside the Northern Southland Community Nursery in Lumsden there is a space to come and sit and enjoy a small part of nature.  At the moment (2022) it is just being started.  There is a picnic table and a Lilliput Library as well as an amazing mural by Southland's very own graffiti artist, DEOW. The mural depicts the Kingston Flyer which used to travel through Lumsden as well as the South Island Kokako, a bird which was considered extinct until recently.

There are plans to put some native plants in this "green space" as well as some information boards about the Gollum Galaxiids - an endangered native fish which lives in the Lumsden creek.

Lilliput Libraries are small libraries found all over NZ - feel free to take a book, swap a book, or just sit and have a read.
Don't forget to enjoy the beautiful artwork on our Lilliput Library.

The geocache is a small pill bottle with room for some swaps. Had only logbook and pencil when installed. Please be careful when putting it back in the hiding place.  Let gravity help you to get it out :)
