This cache is part of the Cazenovia cache series, an organized effort to bring more geocaches to the greater Cazenovia area.
This cache is by far the most challenging in the series, and I promise is not underrated and lives up to it's D5. This puzzle entwines complicated musical pieces, coordinates, and common knowledge. If you don't have a musical background or at least a good ear for concert music, than you are in for quite a challenge. I created this puzzle after making a Tuba themed mystery cache earlier on in the series, which people seemed to recive well. I have had the idea for this puzzle bouncing around in my head for quite some time, and after we got our new band pieces for the semester last week, I thought now would be the time to give a shot at making one. The two pieces the puzzle is about are "Cyclone" by Michael Oare and "Ironclad" by Sean O'Loughlin. They are both really fun pieces, and I hope you enjoy listening to them as much as I like playing them. Some useful tools that would be very helpful for the puzzle is an online metronome like this one, which has an adjustable tempo, this video, and a Bb Tuba fingering chart. I don't want to give away too much of the puzzle here, but I added 3 hints that should be helpful, and I am happy to give you help if you ask. The final is an official Geocaching Lock n' Lock placed just off a nice trail, and should be about a 2-mile hike from the trail head. There is also a nice view to go along with the cache. I have a big FTF prize in the cache, and the original contents are an unactivated TB, a Geocoin, a cash prize and a few other nick nacks. You may have to do some digging if there is a lot of snow on the ground, but the hiding spot for the cache is fairly obvious. Let us know in your log what piece you like the best. I hope you have fun with the puzzle. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Good luck, and Happy caching!
