Geocache Description:

06 March 2022, 09:00 - 10:30

The Friends of Aranda Bushland is a community group dedicated to protecting and conserving the bushland to the south of the suburb of Aranda.  It has a particular interest in conserving the remnant stands of snow gums located in the bushland.  Every month, volunteers gather to work on the bushland - weeding, pruning, planting and path maintenance. More information about the group can be found at this website:  www.friendsofarandabushland.org.au

This CITO will be focussed on helping the Friends weed and bag St john's Wort.  Attendees are asked to meet at the posted coordinates at 0900, when brief instructions will be provided.  Attendees are asked to wear study shoes, stout gloves and sun protection, and bring along trowels or other small weeding tools.

The plan for the morning is:

  • 0850 - 0900 - meet and sign the geocaching check-in sheet before moving to the work area
  • 0900 - 1000 - working in the bushland (the CITO component);
  • 1000 - 1030 - optional morning tea under the snow gums (contributions welcome, please bring your own water/drinks)

Please log your "will attends" so I can let the organisers know how many to expect. The working party actually goes until 1130, so if you are super enthusiatic, you are welcome to stay for the whole time.

Attending this event will earn you a 2022 Season I CITO souviner !
