Join for us for a conversation about those ever-present hitchhikers that come home uninvited. The event will be 2 hours and include pamphlets on ticks. Removing a tick and disposal of the tick. Symptoms to look for if you are bitten by a tick. Information on submitting a tick for identification online or through the mail. We will have a limited number of mail in tick identification kits at the event.
The event will be held at the Brandon Public Library 304 South St, Ortonville, MI 48462. As you come in the entrance doors it will be the double wooden doors on your left.
Schedule of the events tentatively:
12:00 PM - 12:30 PM Meet and Greet
12:30 PM - 1:30 PM Tick Discussion
1:30 PM - 2:00 PM Anything caching
There will be the usually beverages and snacks. We will have trackables to discover.

2-16-2022 We are honored to have Michelle Volk as our guest for the event. Michelle has a Bachelor of Science Degree from New York University in Biology. She also has a Masters Degree from the University of Maine in Ecology and Environmental Science. Where she studied the winter climate on the Black Legged Tick. She is currently a PhD student at M.S.U. where she is studying the genetics and distribution black legged ticks and tick-borne pathogens in Michigan.

We have swag folders ready, these will be given out 1 to a couple/family or single cacher.
To minimize disruption while our guest is speaking. No one will be admitted between 12:25 pm and 1:30 pm.
Please log an attends by Thursday 2-24-2020 so we know how much refreshments to bring.
Like any other event I have though, there may rule changes. :^)
