Geocache Description:

Permission for this cache has been granted by Justin Miller with the City of Greer Parks & Recreation.

My first geocache!!!! I hope you guys enjoy finding this one as much as I enjoyed making it! If there are any problems with the cache I overlooked, feel free to let me know!

Welcome to Victor Memorial Veterans Park, an often overlooked park in Greer, SC, built to honor those who risked their lives for our freedom. You will be taking a mini-tour of this hidden gem today! Along the way, you'll be collecting some information that you will need to get the coordinates for the final, which is a magnetic log-only cache hidden to blend in well. Have fun and happy caching!

N 34° 55.ABC' W 082° 13.DEF'

Stage 1: At the posted coordinates, you'll find a large plaque that begins with "dedicated to". What is the second to last number in the year this was donated? Add 3 to this answer for A.

Stage 2: At the next stage, you'll find a plaque dedicated to some of the South Vietnamese soldiers who fought alongside the US in the Vietnam War. What number is right next to the word "Khóa". Subtract 16 from this answer for B.

Stage 3: At this stage, you will see a large monument with an eagle statue perched on top of it. Find the side of the monument that mentions the Purple Heart. Fill in the blank with the information on this monument. "On February 2?, 1932, the Army War Department revived this award as the 'Purple Heart'". Add 1 to your answer for C.

Stage 4: At this stage, you'll get to see a real life military helicopter! Next to it, you will find a plaque that mentions what type of helicopter this is. What is the second to last number in the year it was first used? Subtract 4 from your answer for D.

Stage 5: You just saw a helicopter, now you'll get to see a tank too! Like the previous stage, you will be looking for a plaque that says what type of tank this is. What is the last number in the year this tank was first used? Add 6 to your answer for E.

Stage 6: You're almost done with the tour! This last stage will take you to a small fountain, placed in honor of Ronnie Eugene Norris, a Greer native. What is the last number in the year he graduated Greer High School? Add 3 for F.

Good job, now you've completed the tour! Go get that final! Please make sure to replace the container exactly where you found it when finished.

FTF honors go to: gypc!!!!
