The idea is taken from a similar cache which we did recentley Sevilla at Night. It lends itself easily to teamwork in search of the answers and calucalting the final cords.
You need to take a walk, preferably at night, through the popular pedestrinaised shopping street, Carnaby Street, looking for the letters that make up the photograph above. Each letter has been taken from a word that is part of a business name, plaque, sign or similar.
I have chosen a route that starts at the very beginning of Carnaby Street through to the end. You can find all the answers whilst standing on Carnaby Street but make sure you look up, left and right for the letters! The letters are not in order so it is indifferent to take the walk in either direction although it would be recommended to start at the Great Marlborough Street end.
Once the 13 words have been obtained, you will need to count their letters (only the word, not the entire text) and you will have the necessary numbers to find the coordinates. Here are some rules:
- In the case that there are the same letter in two words of the same business name we will take the first of the words. For example if we see the "a" in David and Goliath the answer would be 5.
- If a word is hyphenated you use the whole word so for example Lily-Rose would be 8.
- If it is a plaque it would be the name of the person it is dedicated to and the rule in number one applies.
Final formula
X = add all the letters of the 6 words that form LONDON.
Y = add all the letters of the 7 words that form AT NIGHT.
