Many prospectors have made their way to Coolgardie to make their fortune. Some were lucky, and some were not. Walk around and you can see some of the perils these early pioneers faced.
John Holland, a resident of Broomehill decided to blaze a track through to Coolgardie in 1893 for those prospectors landing in Albany and lured by gold. You may be lucky enough and you have driven the Holland Track to get to Coolgardie. In three years, 18,000 people traversed the Holland Track before the train line was extended through from Perth.
