Geocache Description:

This is one in a series of STOP sign caches that I decided to place in and around the Davison area to remember famous songs with the word "stop" in the title.  It's also done as a way to help you build your numbers quickly and is based on the EGG (Easy Guardrail Grab) series that is so famous in northern Ohio (and elsewhere).  TWEEZERS WILL BE YOUR BEST FRIEND FOR THIS SERIES.

This song was first recorded by one of my "main men" from when I was a teenager, Mac Davis.  I thought he was really something back in the day.  I figured many of the older gals living nearby thought so too, which is why I picked this song as my title for this cache.  (Yes there are two LARGE senior complexes further down this road AND our senior citizen activity center.)

Here is what Wikipedia had to say about this song:

"Stop and Smell the Roses" is the title of a 1974 song by the American singer-songwriter Mac Davis. The song was written by Davis and the noted bandleader and trumpeter Doc Severinsen.

Released as a single from his album of the same name, the song "Stop and Smell the Roses" became Davis' second Top 10 hit on the U.S. popchart, where it peaked at No. 9 in the fall of 1974. The song remained in the Top 40 for ten weeks.
