Geocache Description:

In order to claim a find on this challenge, you must find and log the oldest cache in Wisconsin of 5 different types. Cachers may sign a challenge cache's physical log at any time. However, the challenge cache may be logged as found online only after the log is signed and the challenge tasks have been met and documented. Finds on sufficiently old caches that are now archived will count as qualifiers. The checker below will tell you if you qualify.

This cache is located in the Lake Mills State Wildlife Area and Zeloski Marsh Unit. The western unit of the Lake Mills State Wilelife Area is known as the Zeloski Marsh Unit. This 1,700-acre wetland restoration includes a series of six impoundments where water levels are managed for nesting waterfowl, shorebirds, and other species of plants and animals.

The area is easily accessed via lanes established for property management work. The Glacial Drumlin Trail runs through Zeloski Marsh. This cache may be accessed from the Glacial Drumlin Trail, and is on the former route of the trail on the railroad bed. It could also be accessed from the provided parking coordinates at the end Alley Road.

The Geocache Notification Form has been submitted to the Wisconsin DNR. Geocaches placed on Wisconsin Department of Natural Resource managed lands require permission by means of a notification form.
