This two stage cache can be a fairly easy hike if the weather has been dry or the terrain is frozen, or at times it can be a serious challenge due to standing or flowing water, mud, insects, or deep snow.
There is paved parking at the trailhead, and a decent trail (when dry) leading to stage one. Nothing needs to be 'opened' at stage one, it is a visual hint only.
Stage two will require some traversing off-trail. Both stages are traditionally hidden containers, the first being a larger 'micro' size and the final being a larger 'small' size, not quite a 'regular' Expect to hike around 1.5 miles round trip under best conditions, possibly farther to find a passable route. Under worst conditions the final stage might require a boat, kayak, or waders. The '3.5' terrain rating is probably the average of possible conditions.
