Oaklands Wetland were completed in 2013. The project was a collaboration between the City of Marion and the Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges Natural Resources Management Board, with additional funding from the Australian Government’s ‘Water for the Future’ program. The wetland enables up to 200 million litres of stormwater to be used for irrigation each year at up to 30 council reserves. This stormwater would have otherwise flowed out to sea.
