Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Little Big Econ State Forest! You seek an ammo can, somewhere out yonder. This cache is my humble tribute to one I found many years ago. Your journey will be about 3.5 miles of hiking, with some light bushwhacking at various stages. At each stage, you will need to solve some sort of physical challenge, to reveal a code word, which will allow you to continue your quest. Plan on about 3 - 4 hours, to complete. Please bring a couple AA batteries, and some sort of pack, as there will be things found along the way, that you will need to bring with you, on this journey.

This is a Wherigo cache. You will need to download a bit of software, called a cartridge, at the link provided. This cartridge is utilized by a smartphone app, or some handheld GPS units, and acts as sort of a virtual tour guide, leading you to the various stages. The cartridge will sense when you are at a specific stage, and direct you to answer a question, based on what you find there. I suggest you save after completing each stage. If you do not save, and the cartridge crashes unexpectedly, you will have to start over, and that is really annoying.

In one of your first stages, you will find an ammo can containing various tools you may find usefull, in solving the stages. This is where your pack will come in handy. When you arrive at each stage, please observe how they are presented, and try to restore it the way you found it.

When you employ your AA batteries, please remove them when you are done, so corrosion does not set in. I suggest bringing a traditional handheld GPS unit with you. As each stage is completed, the cartridge will provide you with the GPS coordinates for the next stage. By using a handheld GPS to travel from stage to stage, you will save a lot of battery life, in your phone. The combination of your phone's GPS and display burn a lot of juice. After inputting the provided coordinates into your handheld GPS, back out of the cartridge and save, then open the cartridge and resume, once you get close to the stage.

Be aware of your surroundings. Because these stages are fairly close to the hiking trails, your activity might be visible to passing muggles. Other things to watch out for are critters, such as coyotes, venomous snakes, and wild hogs, who call this stretch of woods, home. Bring a pokey stick with you, and watch where you step. Long sleeves, pants, good boots, and a hat, can help protect you from thorns.

This map will give you a rough idea of your route:
