Akamas project Matsikorido nature trail. A circular (Matsikorido) nature study trail in the Pano Arodos area. Set up by the local community in conjunction with the forestry department. A 10 km route with great views over the Akamas gorges and coast beyond. There are various signs indicating important Cypriot plant species, in spring the area is full of wild flowers.
Driving, a 4x4 is not necessary as the track is well made, if walking there is very little shade so take plenty of water, it’s an approximate walk of 2.5 hours, not allowing time for searches and resting.
As always in Cyprus beware of snakes. Bring your camera, fantastic views.
