Guess who's back, back again! Yes those unbearable adventurers who love to get out in the woods and have a good time have recently returned to the caching conmmunity. One of the things we thoroughly enjoyed about caching was getting together with friends, getting outside, and sharing some of our favorite places. Well one of our favorite places is Bear Brook. So if you can brook a bunch of bad bear jokes, and more than one unbearable pun then maybe you have what it takes to be a Scout About. The only way you can find out is by showing up! We will meet up at the parking area at the south end of Podunk Rd at 9:30 am to hang out, sign the log, and swap caching stories, When the event ends at 10:00 am everyone's welcome to go for a hike in Bear Brook, plan on 2 hours of hiking. No agenda, we'll pick a direction and go until it becomes unbearable and then either keep going or turn back.
Being Bear Brook at the end of March please be prepared for the elements. It may be sunny and warm, it may be snowing sideways, maybe something inbetween, regardless we're gonna go! Dress warmly for the event and if you stick around afterwards prepare for at least 2 hours of freeform hiking. Hiking shoes, snacks, water, a smile, and a sense of humor are mandatory. You may also want to bring along a back pack, micro spikes, hiking poles, extra layers, and the rest of the 10 essentials of hiking. Looking forward to seeing some of the old Scout About gang make a return to the trails with us as well as anyone new who has what it takes to put up with us for that long!
