Il Museo del Figurino Storico, fondato nel 1981, è un’istituzione museale situata dal 2004 nel Castello di Calenzano Alto con la precisa intenzione di spiegare ed illustrare la storia attraverso il modellismo. La collezione esposta nelle sale del museo è costituita sia da pezzi donati da plastimodellisti, sia da prestiti di collezionisti privati. Oltre ai vari modellini, sono esposte anche uniformi, equipaggiamenti militari, mappe e bandiere, in modo da completare il percorso museale e rendere più accattivante l’esperienza del visitatore. Il museo è diviso in otto distinte sezioni: il Mondo Antico, il Medioevo, l’Era illuminista Moderna, l'Età Napoleonica, il Risorgimento, la Grande Guerra e la Seconda Guerra Mondiale, con particolare attenzione alle vicende della Linea Gotica e della Resistenza. Oltre alle sale espositive, il museo gestisce anche la torre sovrastante ai locali. Tutt’oggi il Museo del Figurino Storico organizza eventi ed incontri con i modellisti della piana Fiorentina ed oltre, nonché visite rivolte alle scuole del territorio.
Come ultima cosa è importante menzionare come il museo sia tappa del cammino di San Iacopo, un percorso di pellegrini che collega Firenze con Livorno.

The Museo del Figurino Storico (Museum of the Historical Model), founded in 1981, is a museum located since 2004 in the Castle of Calenzano Alto with the precise intention of explaining and illustrating history through model making. The collection on display in the museum is made up of pieces donated by model-makers and lend by private collectors. In addition to the various models, uniforms, military equipment, maps, and flags are also on display to complete the museum's itinerary and enhance the visitor's experience. The museum is divided into eight distinct sections: the Ancient World, the Middle Ages, the Modern Enlightenment Era, the Napoleonic Era, the Risorgimento, the Great War, and the Second World War, with a special focus on the events of the Gothic Line and the Resistance. In addition to the exhibition rooms, the museum also manages the tower above the premises. Today, the Museo del Figurino Storico organises events and meetings with modellers from the Florentine plain and beyond, as well as visits for local schools.
Lastly, it is important to mention that the museum is a stop along the San Iacopo way, a pilgrimage route linking Florence with Livorno.
