Brolga Bill's Puzzles
Brolga Bill decided that, instead of making all the puzzles for the Mega difficult and different, he would construct some that were grouped into types, that started easy and worked through to moderately tricky. Each type has five puzzles in its series.
By this technique he hopes that some cachers who normally would not look at puzzles, will have a go at these.
Good Luck.
More Cyphers
Some different cyphers, but all well known ones.
The Playfair cypher is a manual symmetric encryption technique and was the first literal digraph substitution cypher. The scheme was invented in 1854 by Charles Wheatstone, but bears the name of Lord Playfair who promoted the use of the cypher.
How to recognize PlayFair cyphertext?
The cyphered message has an even number of letters.
The message may have 25 distinct letters at most (the number of letters in the grid)
It is impossible to find a bigram composed of 2 identical letters
It is impossible that a letter is crypted by itself. (Thanks to LeSingeMalicieux)
All references to games and fair play are clues.
Brolga Bill always plays fair.
