Mason Mill, Medlock, and Ira B. Melton parks are all part of one large forest, connected by trails. The Mason Mill Geocaching Adventure spans all three parks and includes over 10 caches available to basic users, plus several more for premium users. You can also participate in two Adventure Labs that start in the Mason Mill parking lot.
This cache was hidden as part of the Atlanta Science Festival, March 13-26, 2022. During the festival, anyone who finds at least 5 caches at Mason Mill/Medlock/Melton and completes one Adventure Lab can take home a special coin (while supplies last), hidden in undisclosed caches throughout the park.
If you approach this cache the recommended way, walking the PATH from Mason Mill towards Emory, you'll pass a "Stay on Trail" sign. Uh-oh! Though this cache is indeed a few paces off the trail, you don't have to fear the wrath of the Park Ranger. He hid this cache! Still, you must to be stealthy as you duck into the privet to collect this cache because this PATH is busy, and muggles (non-geocachers) are everywhere.
You are looking for a regular ammo box containing a log and swag. Please hide it fully before you leave.
