One of many lovely spots in this beautiful town of Knysna that I am lucky to call my home and definitely one of my favourite views of the town and estuary!!
Welcome to Margaret's Viewpoint!
Just below you there is Belvidere Estate and Old Belvidere (read about and explore their interesting history dating back to the foundation of Knysna in the 1800's with these two caches: Old Belvidere Historical Walk and The Bell), to the right is the town of Knysna itself and in the estuary you see Thesen Island and maybe a tiny bit of Leisure Island further to the right.
Lately a signboard has been erected towards the middle of this viewpoint depicting a map of Greater Knysna as well as interesting information on the Western Head Conservancy, an environmentally sensitive area of local indigenous flaura and fauna where this viewpoint is located.
Rest a while on one of the lovely benches and enjoy the view!
