Geocache Description:

MacQuarrie's Pond, located at Harborcreek Community Park, was dedicated on September 14, 1983, in recognition of Edward MacQuarrie's contributions to the development of many of the park's facilities.  A centerpiece of the park, the pond is a resource for fishing and bird watching as well as a scenic highlight during activities such as hiking.

The park itself spans approximately 130 acres and features 12 baseball/softball diamonds, 2 regulation size soccer fields, a little gridders football field, and two completely furnished concession buildings, a playground, and 3 restroom facilities. There is also a 7/10 mile paved hiking trail and an approximately 1 mile wooded hiking trail.

To log a find on this virtual cache please message or email me the answers to the following questions before you log a find:

1) At the posted coordinates you will find a Fishing Shelter. How many steps are there from the paved trail to the shelter?

2) How many permanent wooden benches are located on either side of this shelter?

3) At the second virtual stage you will find a nearby monument with multiple plaques. One of these plaques is for the dedication of MacQuarrie's Pond. Where on the monument is this plaque located?

Encouraged but not required: post a photo of yourself with MacQuarrie's Pond in the background.

Enjoy your time at the pond and at the park and be sure to take in all it has to offer.
