Geocache Description:

The Fundy Bay has the highest tides in the world. Gravitational forces from the sun and moon create tides all around the earth. What causes higher tides in  Fundy Bay is its size and shape. There is a natural period of oscillation in Fundy Bay that is about 12 1/2 hours. Water entering the bay takes about 12 1/2 hours to travel the length of the bay and back again. This is in perfect rhythum with the Atlantic ocean tide. The  bay is shaped like a large funnel, it becomes narrower and shallower towards the head of the bay, forcing the water to build up higher.

The tidal flats of Waterside Beach and Dennis Beach are the largest non mud tidal flats in the Bay of Fundy. At posted coordinates the difference between high and low tide can be as much as 12 meters. There are places to park at Waterside Beach and Dennis Beach

To claim this cache all you have to do is go for a walk at low tide to the posted coordinates and post a picture of yourself or a personal item with the cliffs of Redhead in the background. Please check the tide tables for Waterside before attempting this cache. You will have only about a half an hour before and after low tide to get the required picture. If your phone or GPS device will allow check to see how far above or below sea level you are.
