The coordinates will take you to the entrance of the Riverfront Office Center at 1101 S Front St, Harrisburg, PA. At this location you will find a brass plaque on the right wall of the entrance to the building which indicates the person this building is named for. I had the honor of knowing this person and meet him several times..
Although the security of the area may be enforced during certain times if you inform the security that you are just observing the plaque on the building, you should have no problem as the plaque does not require you to enter the building.
Three founding fathers Mark Butler, Mort Bernstein, Harry Coverman, were the inspiration behind the concept of having a retail store that specialized in selling closeout merchandise and excess inventory at a reduced price. However they needed a forth person to help finance the business. The man this building is named for was the man. He not only signed the loan for the business, but also agreed to have his name and caricature to be used for the stores. On July 29, 1982 the first store opened along the Carlisle Pike in nearby Mechanicsburg, Pa. With the opening of the 2nd store on Allentown Blvd in October of 1982, this became a well known name in the Harrisburg area. Over the past 40 years, this chain of stores has grown to be one of America’s largest retailers of closeout merchandise and excess inventory stores.
