Geocache Description:

A different type of LEO encounter than we usually talk about.

The posted coords will take you to the Michigan Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Monument (MLEOM).   Entitled the "Sentinel", it was dedicated in July 2019.    A commission was formed in 2004 to oversee design and funding of the monunment, property dedicated in 2006, and a design announced in 2007.   After that, it was a matter of raising the money for construction and to provide for ongoing maintinance in the future.  Finally, ground was broken and construction began in Oct 2018.

All of the names you see on the monument represent officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.

To log this virtual cache, please find the following pieces of information and send it to me.   Message, email, text.  Not picky here.

1.  Find the entry for the fallen officer from the Pere Marquette RailRoad.  What is his name and what panel is he on (number and E/W)

2.  Find the entry for the fallen officer from the US Bureau of Prohibition.   Again, his name and what panel is he on.

3.  How many commissioners are listed on the northern-most stone, where the major donors are recognised?

I'll be straight with you, parking is going to be a bear here.   There is a side road, Butler Blvd, but if you're here during working hours, I wouldn't hold my breath.  There is an entrance to a lot just east of the monument.  There is no street parking on Allegan St, which is the main East/West road along here.
