Geocache Description:

Welcome to St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church. My spiritual home since 1961. The parish was founded in 1752.The church you stand in front of today as due to the efforts of the Rev.James E. Cleary. Who is buried on the left side of the church. The sanctuary contains artifacts from the Vatican, ancient Rome and Venice. Much of the marble was obtained from the same quarry in Greece from which the marble atop the Acropolis was obtained. The highlight for me are the 16 rectangular Paintings in the ceiling by Berthold Imhoff depicting 214 life size figures processing toward the alter. Considered by many to be his Masterpiece. To get credit for this cache please message me with the date the church was rebuilt. Also take a picture of any object you wish to prove you visited this virtual.
