The water tower mural was completed in late May 2021 to acknowledge the sacrifices made by Gunditjmara servicemen and women who are recognised in an Indigenous war memorial mural in Heywood.
Internationally-acclaimed street artist Adnate was commissioned as the lead for the project and a local Indigenous artist, Levi Geebung assisted.
The project was initiated by Leadership Great South Coast 2020 Alumni and supported by the Victorian State Government, Gunditj Mirring Traditional Owners Corporation, Wannon Water, and the Glenelg Shire.
