Geocache Description:

For years, we had a geocache hidden here, but always felt that if we got the opportunity to change this to a virtual we would.

A bronze and stainless steel sculpture of a pulp Science Fiction Golden Age rocket ship is angled on a steel wedge in Vancouver's Cambie Street Plaza. The 12-ft. long spaceship is based on a design for a parade float used in 1936; it survived on display at the Vancouver Air Terminal until 1972, when rust did it in. This more corrosion-resistant replica was created in 1985 by the local sheet metal workers union, unveiled in 1986 for the 100th anniversary of the founding of Vancouver.

The rocket is a symbol of the role played by craftsmanship and transportation in the growth of Vancouver.

My father, at the age of 23, was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers union and was part of the group who built it in 1936.

As I drive by I will always be reminded of my father and the other men for their creativity, and inspiration in the making of the rocket.

to claim this virtual, please send me the answers to the following questions:

1. A picture of you and the rocket, of your GPS and the rocket or hold up a piece of paper with your geocaching name with the rocket.

2. The number of large propulsion rockets

3. The name of the last trustee listed on the plaque

4. What direction is the rocket facing?
