Geocache Description:

Woodstock

Woodstock Music and Art Fair, commonly referred to simply as Woodstock, was a music festival held August 15–18, 1969, on Max Yasgur's dairy farm in Bethel, New York. It was originally supposed to be held in Woodstock, NY,, 40 miles Northeast of Bethel.  It was billed as an Aquarian Esposition: 3 days of  Peace & Music" and alternatively referred to as the Woodstock Rock Festival, It attracted an audience of more than 400,000.  Thirty-two acts performed outdoors despite sporadic rain.

In 2017 it was listed on the National Register of Historic Sites.

Enjoy the view from this location. The actual stage location sits just to the left and behind the plaque.

In order to log a find for this virtual, you must message me through the geocaching website the answers to the following questions to prove you were there. No past visits will count.

1. There is a post to the right of the monument. What is the number on the post?

2. Also to the right there is a large tree surrounded by memory rocks placed there by visitors. Find the tag on that tree. What is the number on the tag?

Post a picture from the site with the plaque as a background using either your GPSr, a sig item, or if you want, a selfie (your face in the picture is optional). Please do not include the answers to the questions in your pictures posted to the cache's page.

Now known as Bethel Woods, Sakiman and I were in the area for a concert on May 28, 2022, by the Who, one of the groups that originally appeared at Woodstock in 1969, What better way to remember this concert than by placing this virtual here!
