This pavilion was created to mark the connection of 'The Great Trail' in honour of Canada's 150th anniversary of Confederation in 2017. It is one of 87 pavilions located across the 24,000 km trail system running coast to coast across Canada.
Family vacations always included travel either east or west in a effort to familiarize us kids with Canada before my brothers and I grew up to travel beyond. When the Trail reached out to Canadians for help I remembered our trips and added my name to this pavilion as it was the closest to home. Continuing both traditions, we also took our sons across Canada with the added adventure of finding their own names posted on the furthest eastern, western and southern pavilions.
Update - Apparently there are barriers coming from the direction of the nearby restaurant. No issues accessing from the east.
