Wamme bro
Already around 1650 there was a bridge here connecting the shores of Säveån.
The beautiful stone bridge seen today was constructed in 1853.
The name Wamme is derived from the old norse word wamb meaning basin. Already before there was a bridge it was a place where the river was forded.
After the inaugeration of the concrete bridge further downstreams in 1961 traffic became restricted and today it is open only for pedestrians and bicycles.
To log this virtual you have to take a photo where the bridge and you are visible. You do not have to show your face.
