Geocache Description:

The London Bridge is located in beautiful Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

It once spanned the Thames River in London, England and is now a focal point and popular tourist attraction in our city.

The bridge was purchased from the City of London in 1968 by Robert P. McCulloch, of McCulloch chainsaw fame, for the price of $2,460,000.  In London, as the bridge was being dismantled block by block, each section was marked and numbered.  The granite blocks were then shipped overseas, through the Panama Canal to Long Beach, California.  They were then trucked to Lake Havasu City where the bridge was reconstructed.  The project took three years to complete and cost $5.1 million.  A ceremony was held on October 10, 1971 to rededicate the bridge.

The London Bridge stands today as a testament to Robert P. McCulloch's entrepreneurial foresight.

To receive credit for this cache, you will need to visit BOTH red telephone booths, also known as kiosks, in the English Village near the bridge. You must visit both phone booths for the answers.  Message us your answers for BOTH of the following questions:

1. What is the name of the company that manufactured the phone booth closest to the Visitors Center?

2. Within the phone booth closest to the bridge what are the letters, symbol and number stamped on it?  Not the foundry name.

Any logs containing the answers in them will be deleted.  Any logs marked as found without sending the answers to the CO will be deleted.

A log with pictures of your visit to the bridge is always welcome, but a photo by itself with no answers sent to CO, is NOT considered a find and will be deleted.

To learn more about the London Bridge, please visit the Visitors Center located in the English Village near the bridge.  There you will learn many more interesting facts about the bridge, Robert P. McCulloch and the city of Lake Havasu.  A walking tour is available.  The Visitors Center is open Monday-Saturday 9a-4p and Sunday 10a-4p.  We hope you enjoy your visit.
