The Cathedral Church of Saint John the Evangelist is only freehold estate in Hong Kong. The Crown grant the land with perpetual ownership under the condition that the land be used as a church. It's only land in Hong Kong is not goverment's land currently.
The Cathedral is the parish church of the Anglican Diocese of Hong Kong. The architectural style is a plain and unadorned adaptation from 13th Century Early English and Decorated Gothic. The first service of the Cathedral carried on Sunday, 11 March 1849. The church is open for public. You can find some colonial and WWII history in the chruch's chapel if no service is taking place. The church was declared a monument on 1996.
Opening Hours of the Cathedral Church :
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday & Friday: 7.00am - 6.00pm
Wednesday: 7.00am - 6.30pm
Thursday*: 7.00am - 6.00pm
Saturday: 7.00am - 7.30pm
Public Holiday: 9.00am - 4.00pm
*On occasions, the Cathedral Church will be closed at 5.00 pm for special maintenance projects.
All geocachers visiting the Cathedral Church are asked to be respectful of the sacredness of the space. Please refrain from engaging in any act of disturbance.
The listed coordinates is not the Cathedral but the garden of photo taking. To log this virtual cache, please photo log with the Cathedral's building and you or anything can identify you. Prefer with your GPSr (GPS handheld or your phone) but not a must.
Log with a picture without any proof / sign for a geocacher take on his/her own will be deleted.

中環聖約翰座堂，屬香港唯一「永久業權」土地。
聖約翰座堂是香港島教區的主教座堂。土地當年由英王送贈予聖公會的坎特伯雷大主教，香港政府並不收取此土地地稅。教堂設計揉合了13世紀的早期英格蘭式以及華麗哥德式建築風格。1849年建築工程完成，同年3月11日開始舉行崇拜。
若教堂正進行崇拜，請勿干擾。
