Mirador del Guarda Forestal
The monumental Turón River Basin Viewpoint or Foresters' Viewpoint is 900 metres above sea level. From here you have a spectacular view of the northern landscape of the Sierra de las Nieves Natural Park. Of particular note are the densely vegetated front part of the Turón river basin and its inhabited slopes, covered with a diverse forest fauna - Spanish firs, Aleppo pines and those from the Ronda area, holm oaks, terebinths and juniper bushes.
On the summit is the statue erected in 1977 to commemorate the centenary of the Corps of Foresters. From this vantage point you can admire other treasures of the white mountain landscape of El Burgo, such as the magnificent view of the Lifa Valley, the gorge, the snow-capped peaks of the Pilones and the Sierras Cabrillas, the ruins of the Virgen de las Nieves monastery and the waterfall and mill of la Fuensanta.
Now walk up to the statue and enjoy the panorama.
