Geocache Description:

Silent Symphony is a public art display of 42 kinetic sculptures at the base of the Thaddeus Stevens Bridge in Lancaster, PA.  They range from 14 to 34 feet in height and are lit up at night by 104 landscape lights.  Each stainless, spinning sculpture has a different size and weighted blades, so they are able to spin at different speeds.  Each one is hand-crafted and tested in 90 MPH winds.

The wind sculptures are made in Utah by Lyman Whitaker.  He has wind sculptures all across the United States and internationally.   There was a competition with 2 other artists and this display won. We are so glad this was chosen.

When we first saw these spinners, we thought they were amazing, and now we get to share them through this Virtual.

The coordinates take you to a brass information plaque. In order to get credit for this cache, you need to answer the following 3 questions.  Then message us with the answers.  We will only respond to incorrect answers.  If you don't hear from us, then you answered correctly.

1.  How many foundations are listed on the plaque?

2.  How many oval, spoon-shaped spinners are on the GZ side and how many are on the parking lot side?  Count the poles the spinners are mounted on.

3.  There is a green sign near GZ.  What are the 2 words on it?
