While reading up on magpies prior to creating this virtual cache, we learned some amazing facts about them. Did you know that magpies are one of the most intelligent birds and that they hold 'funerals' for their dead? The inspiration for this particular public art project was to try to rehabilitate the reputation of the magpie.
Do you love or hate them? We have our own magpie story, but we won't share it here as it's pretty gruesome. Feel free to share your story!
To log this virtual cache, you must message us the answers to the following questions, and post a photo.
1. How many magpies are there in total at this site? (The whole site, not just at gz. The answer is not 6).
2. How many magpies have their mouth open?
3. What color is the structure representing the Muttart Conservatory?
4. As you stand at GZ and look up at the nearest power pole, what follows GI up near the top of the pole?
5. Post a photo of yourself or any part of yourself, or pet with one of the magpies. You can either post it on your log, or message it to us and it will not be shared.
