Geocache Description:

As one of the last standing 19th-century structures, the Old Town Hall off of Highway 47 long ago served as a one-room school house and remains a piece of early pioneer history in Ramsey’s community.  The Ramsey School House served Anoka County’s School District #28 from 1892 to 1946, until enrollment numbers fell too low to keep the school open and the schools in the county were consolidated. The building was later converted to a town hall and served as a polling place for many in the area until 1974 when a new, larger city hall was built.  The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in December 1979.  It is one of the few remaining structures built with bricks from the former Kelsey Brickyard.
