Established in 1885 as Michigan College of Mines, it achieved world wide renown as a center for education & research in mining, metallurgy, and geology. This is Husky Plaza, named after the nine-foot-tall 1,600 pound bronze Husky statue which stands on a 19-ton, 1.8 billion year old boulder from Baraga County.
In order to log this cache you must complete the following two items. Logs without this information provided may be deleted without notice.
1. Send me via email the English translation of the phrase that appears at the bottom of the informational sign near the husky's front right paw.
2. Post a picture of yourself with the Husky statue in the background with your "found it" log. It is encouraged but not required to keep your face visible- the picture must display some personal attribute to prove it wasn't a photo poached from the internet. As a fun option, I encourage you to use the university's live webcam to capture yourself with the Husky statue in the background.
