Description
L'église de Sainte-Luce est un lieu de culte catholique construit de 1838 à 1840 et doté d'une nouvelle façade en 1914. Le plan de l'édifice en pierre comporte une nef rectangulaire à un vaisseau prolongée par un choeur plus étroit terminé par un chevet plat. La façade-écran d'une architecture éclectique présente au centre une imposante tour à demi hors oeuvre de plan carré. Cette tour est surmontée d'un clocher massif et est flanquée d'ailerons qui masquent la pente du toit à deux versants retroussés. Une sacristie en pierre de plan rectangulaire et au toit à deux versants retroussés est adossée au choeur. L'église s'élève sur une pointe de terre dégagée, à l'extrémité d'une anse en bordure du fleuve Saint-Laurent. Implantée en retrait de la route, elle se situe dans la municipalité de Sainte-Luce. Elle fait partie d'un ensemble religieux comprenant notamment le cimetière qui s'étend entre l'église et la rive du fleuve, le presbytère et la maison du sacristain.
Ce bien est classé immeuble patrimonial. Il fait partie du site de l'église et du cimetière de Sainte-Luce, cité site patrimonial.

Description
The church of Sainte-Luce is a Catholic place of worship built from 1838 to 1840 and given a new facade in 1914. The plan of the stone building has a rectangular nave with a vessel extended by a narrower choir finished by a flat bedside. The screen facade of an eclectic architecture presents in the center an imposing half tower with a square plan. This tower is surmounted by a massive bell tower and is flanked by fins which hide the slope of the upturned gable roof. A rectangular stone sacristy with a gable upturned roof backs onto the choir. The church stands on an open point of land, at the end of a cove along the St. Lawrence River. Set back from the road, it is located in the municipality of Sainte-Luce. It is part of a religious complex including in particular the cemetery which extends between the church and the bank of the river, the presbytery and the sexton's house.
