Istoria locului începe la 1362 cu o bisericuță de lemn ridicată de Vladislav I al Valahiei, cunoscut și ca Vlaicu Vodă.
Biserica și mănăstirea Sărindar aveau să fie ctitorite pe același loc la 1652 de Matei Basarab, fiind cea de a 40-a biserică ridicată de domnitor, de unde și numele Serendar (grec. saranda însemnând a 40-a) sau Sărindar de mai târziu.
Construcția este șubrezită în lungul anilor de cutremure. În 1880 se decide dărâmarea ei, iar apoi la 1912 se construiește pe acel loc Cercul Militar de astăzi. Pe locul altarului rămâne amintire Fântâna Sărindar.
Pentru a loga acest virtual trebuie să faci o poză cu tine sau cu o hârtie care să conțină nickname-ul tău. Poza va cuprinde cel puțin partea fântânii pe care este scris cuvântul Sărindar. Dacă numele fântânii e obturat atunci va fi acceptată o poză cu clădirea Cercului Militar.

The history of the place begins in 1362 with a small wooden church built by Vladislav I of Wallachia, also known as Vlaicu Vodă.
The church and monastery of Sărindar were to be founded on the same site in 1652 by Matei Basarab, being the 40th church built by the ruler, hence the name Serendar (Greek saranda meaning 40th) or Sarindar later.
The construction is weakened over the years by the many earthquakes. In 1880 it was decided to be demolished, while in 1912 the present-day Military Circle was built on that site. The Sarindar Fountain remains on the place of the altar.
To log in to this virtual, you need to take a picture of yourself or a piece of paper with your nickname on it. The picture will include at least the part of the fountain on which the word Sarindar is written. If the fountains name is not visible, a picture with the building behind, ”Cercul Militar” will be accepted.
