The posted coordinates will bring you to the plaque dedicated to this massive sculpture - located on the same level as the road.
The Watcher has been an unmissable landmark since 1971 for anyone driving along The Parkway in Kanata heading towards Teron Rd. It is a lasting accomplishment for its creator, Glenn Patterson, who was only 18 years old at the time.
This area is very walk and bicycle friendly. Note that parking on The Parkway is not allowed. The most convenient parking is located on Leacock Drive which runs parallel to The Parkway.
Logging requirements
Each individual log must fulfill the following two requirements, even when you find the cache while part of a group.
- Send us the answer to the following question (do not post this answer in your log):
Who accepted the sculpture on behalf of the residents of the Beaverbrook community? (answer must contain 3 words exactly as written on the plaque)
- With your Find log, provide a photo (you do not have to show your face) that shows you or a personal item (for example a piece of paper with your caching name written on it) with The Watcher as confirmation of your being at the given coordinates.
Do not include the answer to the question in your picture.
Choose your favourite view either from the grassy area below or up beside the sculpture. However, given that parking is not allowed on the road next to GZ, pictures from your vehicle can not be accepted.
No need to wait for a response before logging the find - we will contact you if there is an issue.
