This virtual geocache is only available when Lakeview Cemetery is open (dawn to dusk, more details are available at their website).

Lakeview Cemetery is the final resting place for over 112,000 deceased persons, most notably former President James Garfield and John D. Rockefeller. While their graves are worth visiting, the most striking grave marker in Lakeview Cemetery is undoubtedly called the Angel of Death Victorious (a.k.a. the Haserot Angel, a.k.a. the Weeping Angel).
The Angel of Death Victorious was commissioned by Francis Haserot, a businessman, after the death of his wife. Erected in 1924, the Angel is holding an extinguished torch upside-down, representing the loss of life. The angel is most famous for its black tears, which is due to aging bronze.
Please be careful and respectful of cemetery property. To get credit credit for this Virtual Cache, visit the Haserot family plot and locate the Angel of Death Victorious. With your "found it" log, post either:
- a photo/selfie of you and the angel, or
- your GPS with the angel
