It is surely one of the smallest, cleanest and most beautiful little towns on the Highveld and with only 28 inhabitants this quaint "dorpie" is really worth a visit for a day or weekend, as there is so much history to be discovered in this area.
This small hamlet only has a hotel, police station, tiny church and a railway station, but has a big heart. Val is a popular weekend destination and offers many festivals commemorating various events that occurred through history in this part of the country, for example the Boer & Brit Day.
