For many visitors, YVR provides the first and last impression of British Columbia with art and architecture reflective of the province’s diverse landscape and people.

YVR's award-winning Sense of Place is the thematic art and architecture that draws on the themes of land, sea and sky. Showcasing the best of British Columbia, this calming and inspiring force welcomes and bids farewell to the millions of travellers who make their way through YVR each year.

Architects and artists worked together to meld art with architectural design, building a space that was inspired by the art that it features.  The airport is home to a vast collection of local art, including more than 200 pieces by First Nations artists.

The YVR website (yvr.ca) contains information about many of the major artworks that are distributed throughout the airport, both inside and outside of the security zones of the domestic and international terminals. Regardless of where you are you should have no trouble finding art that inspires or awes you.

Logging requirements.

To log this cache, please find an artwork anywhere in the airport that impresses you and post the following:

(1) Describe in your post the name of the exhibit, it's meaning (or what it means to you), and what draws you to it.

Additionally, post TWO pictures with your 'found' log:

(2) With one picture, try to capture the essense of the art. Be creative. Make the best photograph you can.

(3) Of course, you must also include a photo to prove you were there. To do this include something which clearly shows the current date (newspaper, airline ticket, phone, etc.) with part of the art visible in the same photo. In this photo you must also include yourself in the picture or something that distinctly identifies you (such as your geocaching name or a signature item).

[Security note: your boarding pass contains personal information about you, so if you choose to include it in your photo be sure to blur (or don't include) any identification numbers and especially not any barcodes or QR codes.]

'Found' logs that do not contain the required information may be deleted without notification.
