Welcome to the Steppes Sculptures, these monuments are dedicated to those who share in the love and care of the Central Highlands of Tasmania. The concept and sculptures are by Stephen Walker AM and were inaugurated on 28 November 1992.
Stephen Walker was introduced to the Steppes by a friend and grew to love the area and surrounds so much that he designed and gifted these pieces to the Central Highlands community. Each piece encapsulates all things natural that are endemic to the area and historical events that are synonymous to the Lake Country. Please take a moment to reflect, look and listen to your surrounds.
