Geocache Description:

Sasquatch (a.k.a. Bigfoot) is a large, hairy, humanlike mammal believed to exist in Western Canada and northwest parts of the USA. First Nations people of the Harrison Lake area describe ‘Sasq’ets’ as a spiritual entity that can vanish into the spirit realm at will, making this 4.5-metre-tall figure difficult to track down. Over the centuries there have been many reports of sightings of this elusive creature in the area around Harrison Lake, but there has been no actual proof of his existence-- yet.

The town of Harrison Hot Springs celebrates the Sasquatch in many ways, and this Virtual Cache brings you to the site of the town's new Sasquatch Museum. There are three prominent carvings of Harry the Sasquatch in town. One is sitting at the welcome sign as you enter the town, one is here on this corner, and the third sits in front of a store at the Harrison Village Mall just off Lillooet Road at Hot Springs Rd. While they are a delight to see and take selfies with, these are NOT the Sasquatches you are looking for!

There are dozens of other Sasquatches that can be spotted around the town, in store windows, in the form of drawings, weather vanes, directional signs, etc. (Check the photo gallery for examples.) And who knows? There may even be some lurking along one of the many trails in the area!

In order to log this Virtual Cache, you need to search for one or more of the other Sasquatches (not Harry) and post a photo of it that includes something geocaching-related (yourself, your GPSr, a trackable, your name on a piece of paper...) I've provided coordinates for a recent sighting in case you are having difficulty locating one yourself, but finding the elusive Sasquatch in such a small town should be easy for experienced geocachers. I'll be awarding virtual bonus points for creativity. (Extra bonus points if you find one that no one else has posted yet.) HAVE FUN!
