Geocache Description:

Kangaroo Ground War Memorial Park is located on the summit of Garden Hill in Kangaroo Ground

The Kangaroo Ground Memorial Park opened in 1921, and the Tower of Remembrance was unveiled in 1926 in honour of all those of the district who fought and died in the First World War 1914 - 18. It was built from local sandstone and based on the design of a Scottish watchtower. The local community also planted rosemary and a pine sapling from Gallipoli around the foot of the tower.

The tower is used for firespotting and is open to the public during daylight hours and provides panoramic views. It is a location that I have often come to since I was a child.

There is also a viewing platform nearby that also offers great views as well as numerous information panels.

To log this cache please send the following information to me - do not put it in your log.

1. How many stones make up the arched section of the entry to the tower?
2. At the Garden Hill information panel, what is the height above sea level?
3. At the viewing platform nearby (see reference waypoint), how many information panels are there?
4. Include a photo of yourself or your team name from the top of the tower, or if closed from the viewing platform.
