Geocache Description:

The geocache is NOT at the posted coordinates!

Follow the description below and the waypoints!

Welcome to Downtown Detroit!

Hop on Detroit People MoverTM and enjoy the tour of iconic Detroit architecture.

The architecture of metropolitan Detroit continues to attract the attention of architects and preservationists alike. With one of the world's recognizable skylines, Detroit's waterfront panorama shows a variety of architectural styles. The post-modern neogothic spires of One Detroit Center refer to designs of the city's historic Art Deco skyscrapers. Together with the Renaissance Center, they form the city's distinctive skyline. Detroit's architecture is recognized as being among the finest in the U.S. Detroit has one of the largest surviving collections of late-19th- and early-20th-century buildings in the U.S. Because of the city's economic difficulties, the National Trust for Historic Preservation has listed many of Detroit's skyscrapers and buildings as some of America's most endangered landmarks. [Wikipedia]

While you are enjoing the architecture, you are more than welcome to complete this cache. At each of the stations you will be required to disembark the train, perform given task, then to go aboard again. Kudos to all, who can do it all, while riding the same train, LOL.
All of the tasks will require you to attach a photo of yourself (a selfie) AND will require you to send an email / message with answers to the CO.

Housekeeping:
- The total time it took me to test the cache was 2.5 hours. It may differ, though, depending on the number of trains in operation.
3 trains - 1h 45min.
2 trains - 2h 15min.
1 train - a little over 3 hours.
- Parking - use a mobile phone app to reserve the parking (by license plate). You'll pay $10 for 5 hours, instead of $30, you get the gist,
OR you can park for free along Atwater Street - waypoint provided.
- As of November 21st, 2023, the People Mover's operating schedule is as follows:

  • Monday-Thursday ---> 7:00 AM – 10:30 PM
  • Friday                    ---> 7:00 AM – 12:00 AM
  • Saturday                ---> 10:00 AM – 12:00 AM
  • Sunday                  ---> 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM

Please, note that the schedule may change during holidays, events and maintenance breaks.

For details, check Detroit People Mover website.

If ANY of the conditions above are NOT fulfilled, your "Found It" log will be deleted without warning.

- The cache is considered as "Found It", when all pertaining photos are attached to your "Found It" log AND the email / message with answers has been received by the CO.
- You can log the cache as "Found It" as soon as you are finished riding the train. However, the grace period between logging as "Found It", and attaching all photos, and sending the email / message, is 7 days.
